The Activist Garden
Angelou Centre is delighted to announce a start of a new project called The Activist Garden in partnership with Greening Wingrove. This Project will organise a series of women and children’s events including a vibrant summer ‘Activist Garden Party’, regular health walks, women ‘park rangers’, planting and growing sessions and increased access to Nunsmoor Park in Wingrove, Newcastle.
Planting & Growing sessions:
Planting and growing sessions for women and children to learn the basics of general planting and gardening skills in the Angelou Centre.
Session Dates: Monday 6 July, Tuesday14 July, Monday 27 July, Monday 10 august, Monday 24 august, Tuesday 1 September, Monday 14 September, Monday 28 September
(all session 1.30pm – 3pm)
Yoga sessions in Nuns Moor Park:
The Activist Garden is going to start regular free Yoga classes in Nuns Moor Park from July 2015. These sessions are for women and children. Further dates and timings will be shared soon.
Activist Garden Festival:
Angelou Centre proudly announce the the Activist Garden Festival at Nuns Moor Park on the 6th of September 2015. A day full of fun, music, and food and interesting stalls to celebrate the Activist Garden’s activities. This vibrant festival will end by planting a Commemoration Tree for all the deceased women who have lost their lives as a result violence in North east.
